Writing is a funny thing. Here I had thought I'd have my novel finished, and my two poetry collections available for national distribution. But here I am, with neither accomplished. With just three more days until the new year, it's time to look at what I plan to accomplish. Early next year, hopefully in January, The Way of the Reaper will be shipping out to every agent and publisher I can find. While I hope for the best, I am sobered by the facts about the odds that face a first-time novelist trying to break in the industry.
